Education: Received a liberal arts degree from the Borough of Manhattan Community College and continued studies towards a bachelor's degree at Syracuse University, majoring in policy studies and conflict resolution.

Organizational Affiliations: Kings County Committee person, Alternate Judicial Delegate and V.P. of the Rosetta Gaston Democratic Club and member of the Thomas Jefferson club. Correspondence Secretary for Churches United for Worldwide Action, Inc. Founding member of the Family Engagement Committee, Chairperson of the School Leadership Team, a NYC Public School Learning Leader and a parent volunteer of the Starrett City Girls Scout Assoc. Served as the V.P. of the Delegate Agency Policy Committee of the McDonough Street Head Start Program.

Prior Public Experience: Partnered with agents at New York Life to provide Photo Id for the youth of East NY and to provide Medical Alert Id for the senior citizens of Brownsville and East NY. Partnered with Bright Future International to provide free theater tickets to families throughout NYC Public Schools and Churches. Worked with organizations to provide toys to children and to deliver food to senior citizens.

1. What is the most important issue in Council District 42 you would address if elected?

Restructuring the management of the educational system: 1) collocation 2) overcrowded classrooms 3) developing parent learning centers 4) after-school academic and enrichment programs

 

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Improve Policing and relationships with the police and the community, More affordable housing addressing different family sizes and the growing need for senior housing and Increasing access to quality healthcare.

 

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

My ability to build relationships with community leaders, businesses and residents to create alternative means to provide resources for the community.
