Candidate Statement
My name is Amanda Septimo, and I am running to represent the 84th District in the New York State Assembly. For too long my community has lacked true leadership, and it shows. We have the worst asthma rate in the nation, the worst schools in New York City, ground zero of the opioid crisis, and gentrification happening at alarming rates.
With crisis taking root in our neighborhoods, we have to face the reality that we are actually facing a crisis in leadership. The Bronx has been on the losing end of policy for decades because we have not had the strong, thoughtful leadership that our community deserves. I am running to change that.
