NYC Voter Assistance Advisory Committee Meeting on Oct. 3

09/27/2018

The New York City Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, October 3rd, to discuss voters' experiences during the primary election on September 13th. The meeting will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the Joseph A. O'Hare, S.J. Board Room of the New York City Campaign Finance Board's office in Lower Manhattan, at 100 Church Street, on the 12th Floor.

NYC Votes staff will discuss efforts to increase voter participation in September and plans for the general election in November. The meeting will also feature presentations from motivote and the New York Civic Engagement Table about innovative ways to drive voter turnout, and a discussion about how to sustain the increase in turnout we witnessed in this month's primary election.

Some people reported problems at their poll site on September 13th and the meeting will also provide for these voters' voices to be heard. VAAC will provide guidance to mitigate these problems in the future, and communicate all concerns to the NYC Board of Elections.

Anyone interested in testifying at the meeting should send an email to press@nyccfb.info.
